DR Strings PURE BLUES Pure Nickel 5-String Bass Strings - Medium (45-130)

Hand-Wound Round Core Warmth Meets Modern Punch

DR Strings PURE BLUES™ Pure Nickel 5-String Bass Strings combine vintage tone heritage with modern string winding technology. Featuring DR's proprietary Quantum Nickel™ wrap wire hand-wound on a traditional round core, this Medium .045–.130 gauge set delivers a rich, warm fundamental frequency, punchy mid-range presence, and unmatched physical flexibility under the fingers.

The round core construction allows the wrap wire to make full contact along the entire length of the core, producing smoother tactile response, enhanced acoustic sustain, and superior dynamic sensitivity compared to standard hex-core strings. The Quantum Nickel™ alloy provides the smooth, non-harsh top-end warmth classic pure nickel is famous for, while maintaining the output, punch, and low-end tightness modern 5-string players require.

Designed for standard 34-inch and 35-inch scale 5-string electric basses, the PB5-130 set features a robust .130 gauge low B string that tracks clearly without sounding muddy or flabby. Whether you play fingerstyle funk, classic rock, blues, or studio session work, DR Pure Blues offer effortless playability and organic tone.
