Dingwall Nickel Plated Steel Medium Scale 5-String Bass Strings (45-130)

Engineered Specifically for Dingwall Medium Scale 5-String Bass Performance

Dingwall Nickel Plated Steel Medium Scale 5-String Bass Strings are custom-wound to unlock the full sonic and tactile potential of Dingwall’s medium-scale multi-scale instruments. Tailored specifically to fit the unique winding lengths and scale range of instruments like the Super P5, Super J5, and Ready to Play SP-1 5-string series (35-inch scale low B down to 32-inch scale G), these strings deliver a precise, custom fit that standard 34-inch or 35-inch bass strings cannot match.

Constructed with nickel-plated steel wrap wire over a high-grade hex core, this .045–.130 gauge set provides smooth playability with uniform string-to-string tension across all five strings. The nickel wrap delivers a warm, punchy mid-range with smooth top-end chime, while the .130 gauge low B string produces a tight, clear fundamental tone without mud or flop—perfectly complementing vintage-voiced pickups and traditional body styling.

Whether you are stringing up a Dingwall Super P5, SP-1 5-string, Super J5, or another medium-scale multi-scale bass, this factory-spec set guarantees precise intonation, optimal tension balance, and long-lasting performance for stage and studio work.

Sanctuary Tone & Intent Profile

• Best For: Dingwall Super P5, Ready to Play SP-1 5-String, Super J5, Medium-Scale Multi-Scale Basses, Studio Recording, and Live Performance
• Tone Profile: Warm, punchy, and articulate with classic mid-range growl, smooth top-end clarity, and a tight, clear low B string
• Compared To: Standard 34"-35" scale nickel bass sets (which lack proper taper lengths for medium multi-scale basses)
• Sanctuary Expert Note: "Engineered specifically for Dingwall's medium-scale 5-string platform—including the Super P5 and SP-1 series—this set provides the exact taper length and string tension needed across their 32-to-35-inch scale layout. It gives you classic P-bass warmth with an amazingly tight, focused low B."
