Dingwall Nickel Plated Steel Long Scale 6-String Bass Strings (30-130)

Engineered Specifically for Multi-Scale 6-String Bass Performance

Dingwall Nickel Plated Steel Long Scale 6-String Bass Strings are custom-engineered to unlock the full potential of multi-scale and fanned-fret instruments. As the pioneer in multi-scale bass design, Dingwall developed these strings specifically to handle the extreme scale span of a 6-string instrument—from the singing 33.25-inch scale high C string down to the thunderous 37-inch scale low B string—performance that standard 34-inch or 35-inch bass string sets simply cannot achieve.

Constructed with nickel-plated steel wrap wire over a high-grade hex core, this .030–.130 gauge set provides smooth playability and uniform string-to-string tension across the entire fingerboard. The .030 high C string offers sweet, bell-like clarity for chordal playing and soloing, while the .130 gauge low B string delivers an ultra-focused fundamental tone with zero mud or low-end flop.

Whether you are stringing up a Dingwall Combustion 6, NG3 6, ABZ 6, Z 6, or another multi-scale 6-string bass, this factory-spec set offers balanced feel, precise intonation, and exceptional durability for the stage and studio. Note: All Dingwall 6-string production basses ship from the factory equipped with Dingwall Nickel Strings as standard.

Sanctuary Tone & Intent Profile

• Best For: Dingwall 6-String Basses, Multi-Scale / Fanned-Fret 6-String Instruments, Progressive Metal, Fusion, Solo Bass, and Studio Recording
• Tone Profile: Balanced and articulate with glassy high C response, clear punchy mids, and an ultra-tight, thunderous low B string
• Compared To: Standard 34"/35"-scale 6-string bass sets (which lack the proper taper and length for a 37" fanned low B) and boutique multi-scale sets
• Sanctuary Expert Note: "Extended range 6-string multi-scale basses require exact string tension from the high C all the way down to the 37-inch scale low B. This genuine Dingwall set provides effortless playability, crisp chordal clarity, and thunderous low-end definition across all six strings."
