Hand-Wound Round Core Brilliance with Explosive Punch
DR Strings HI-BEAMS™ Stainless Steel 5-String Bass Strings are renowned among professional bassists for their extraordinary brightness, long-lasting dynamic life, and effortlessly flexible feel. Handcrafted in Westwood, New Jersey, HI-BEAMS are meticulously hand-wound on a traditional round core, setting them apart from stiffer, mass-produced hex-core stainless strings.
The round core construction allows the stainless steel wrap wire to conform completely around the core, producing superior physical flexibility, smooth tactile comfort under the fingers, and incredible acoustic sustain. Highly resistant to fret wear while delivering aggressive high-end sizzle and punchy mid-range bite, HI-BEAMS are built to cut through dense stage mixes and high-gain guitar walls with absolute clarity.
Engineered for standard 34-inch and 35-inch scale 5-string electric basses, this Medium .045–.125 set features a tight, articulate .125 gauge low B string that tracks clearly without loss of definition. Whether you dominate with slap technique, heavy pick attack, or intricate fingerstyle fusion, DR Hi-Beams deliver bright, modern tone that stays vibrant gig after gig.
