DR Strings HI-BEAMS Stainless Steel 4-String Bass Strings - Light (40-100)

Hand-Wound Round Core Brilliance with Supple Light-Gauge Playability

DR Strings HI-BEAMS™ Stainless Steel 4-String Bass Strings are world-renowned among modern bassists for their brilliant top-end clarity, extended harmonic life, and effortlessly flexible feel. Handcrafted in Westwood, New Jersey, HI-BEAMS are meticulously hand-wound on a traditional round core, setting them apart from stiffer, mass-produced hex-core stainless strings.

The Light .040–.100 gauge combination provides lower physical string tension and effortless playability without sacrificing low-end impact or mid-range growl. The round core construction allows the stainless steel wrap wire to conform completely along the entire length of the core, yielding superior flexibility, smooth tactile comfort under the fingers, and rich acoustic sustain. Highly resistant to fret wear while delivering aggressive top-end sizzle and cutting bite, HI-BEAMS slice through dense stage mixes with crystal-clear definition.

Designed for standard 34-inch scale 4-string electric basses, the SLR-40 set is ideal for players who demand immediate dynamic response, easy string bending, and fast fingerstyle or slap technique. Whether tracking in the studio or performing live, DR Hi-Beams deliver bright, modern tone that stays vibrant gig after gig.
