Hand-Wound Round Core Brilliance with Explosive Punch
DR Strings HI-BEAMS™ Stainless Steel 4-String Bass Strings are world-renowned among modern bassists for their brilliant top-end clarity, long-lasting dynamic response, and effortlessly flexible feel. Handcrafted in Westwood, New Jersey, HI-BEAMS are meticulously hand-wound on a traditional round core, distinguishing them from stiffer, mass-produced hex-core stainless strings.
The round core construction allows the stainless steel wrap wire to conform completely along the entire length of the core, yielding superior physical flexibility, smooth tactile comfort under the fingers, and rich acoustic sustain. Highly resistant to fret wear while delivering aggressive high-end sizzle and cutting mid-range bite, HI-BEAMS are engineered to slice through dense stage mixes and high-gain guitar walls with total definition.
Designed for standard 34-inch scale 4-string electric basses, this Medium .045–.105 set provides perfect string-to-string balance and immediate dynamic response. Whether you lead with aggressive slap technique, heavy pick attack, or intricate fingerstyle fusion, DR Hi-Beams deliver bright, modern tone that stays vibrant gig after gig.
