Suhr Reactive Load I.R. Tube Amp Load Box & Impulse Response Solution

Pure Tube Tone & Feel — Silent Recording & Live Direct Output

The Suhr Reactive Load I.R. delivers the authentic response, feel, and dynamic interaction of a real speaker cabinet directly into your audio interface or front-of-house PA system. Traditional passive resistive load boxes damp your amplifier's natural power section, flattening dynamics and altering feel. Suhr’s proprietary reactive load circuit matches the frequency-dependent impedance curve of an actual speaker cabinet, allowing your tube amplifier to react naturally, bloom, and breathe as if it were plugged into a physical cab.

Building upon the legendary original Reactive Load, the Reactive Load I.R. adds onboard 32-bit / 96kHz Impulse Response processing. Pre-loaded with 16 factory impulse responses captured from iconic Suhr speaker cabinets (loaded with Celestion speakers), it provides immediate, studio-quality miked cabinet tones without requiring additional software or hardware processors.

Key Features & Performance Specs:

• Authentic Impedance Matching: True reactive impedance curve preserves amp dynamics, power tube compression, and harmonic detail.
• Onboard IR Engine: High-resolution 32-bit, 96kHz, 20.5ms impulse response loader.
• Factory & Custom Impulse Responses: 16 pre-loaded Suhr cabinet IRs, with 16 open slots for loading third-party IRs via USB.
• Flexible Outputs: Balanced XLR line out, 1/4" unbuffered/buffered outs, and dedicated headphone output with level control for silent practice.
• Power Handling: 100 Watts RMS maximum input power (8 Ohm impedance).
• A/B Comparison Note: If you perform direct-to-PA live, practice with headphones, or prefer a standalone hardware solution, choose the Reactive Load I.R.. If you record strictly in a DAW using plugin-based cabinet IRs, explore the original Suhr Reactive Load (Standard).

Sanctuary Expert Note:

"The Suhr Reactive Load I.R. is our go-to solution for players who want to crank a 100-watt tube head at 2 AM without waking the neighbors or compromising tone. The onboard Celestion-loaded Suhr cabinet impulse responses sound production-ready right out of the box."
