Stereo Granular Delay & Micro-Sampling Creation Engine
The Guitar Sanctuary is proud to present the Walrus Audio Fable Granular Soundscape Generator MKII in Gray. Built around digital micro-sampling and delay-line manipulation, the Fable MKII chops up your signal into microscopic sound grains—adjusting their length, buffer position, playback speed, and pitch in real-time. Featuring five distinct DSP algorithms running through dual nested feedback paths, the Fable transforms standard guitar playing into organic reverberance, bright double-speed cascades, glitchy clouds, and randomized pitch-scattered swarms.
Powered by Walrus Audio's proprietary MDSP processing engine, the Fable MKII delivers full stereo I/O, MIDI clock integration, expression pedal control, and 128 available presets (3 onboard). Complete with custom artwork by Niall Grant, stereo Width spreading, and the momentary Dive/Rise pitch-glide switch, the Fable MKII offers unmatched creative flexibility for sound designers, ambient guitarists, and experimental tone chasers.
Sanctuary Product Intelligence Matrix
- Best For: Ambient, Sound Design, Film Scoring, Experimental, Shoegaze, Glitch & Texture Work
- Tone Profile: Granular, Pitch-Shifted, Shimmering, Textural, Organic, Glitchy Swarms
- Skill Level / Application: Advanced / Professional Stage & Studio
- Comparable To: Red Panda Particle 2, Chase Bliss Mood MKII, Hologram Electronics Microcosm
- Sanctuary Expert Note: "Granular processing reads tiny audio samples from a delay buffer and rearranges them in real-time. Mode IV acts as a 'Grain-Verb' creating dense, cloud-like ambient pads unlike any standard reverb tank."
Five Streamlined Granular Modes
- Mode I (Reverse Delay into Reverse Granular): Reversals build within nested feedback loops for shifting textures. Dial the X knob down for smooth reversed transients, or up for stuttering reverse glitch effects.
- Mode II (Forward Delay into Octave Up Granular): Samples grains at double speed, layering bright, airy, and shimmering cascades across your delay trails.
- Mode III (Analog Delay into Octave Down Granular): Pairs warm analog-style delay with half-speed granular playback for deep, murky, and thunderous low-end ambiance.
- Mode IV (Multi-Tap Granular into Multi-Tap Granular / Grain-Verb): Dual multi-tap algorithms playing multiple samples simultaneously to create lush, organic reverb clouds and time-stretched pads.
- Mode V (Forward Delay into Randomized Pitch Granular): Each grain plays at a randomly selected speed and direction (octave up, octave down, forward, reverse) for evolving, randomized harmonic textures.
