Suhr SL15 Hand-Wired 15W Tube Amp Head - Black Tolex

Classic Super Lead British Tone in a Portable Hand-Wired Head

Engineered by John Suhr and the master builders in Lake Elsinore, California, the Suhr SL15™ Hand-Wired Amp Head brings the legendary warmth, dynamic punch, and harmonically rich overdrive of classic 1960s British Super Lead amplifiers into a compact, portable 15-watt format. Built around a hand-wired point-to-point circuit topology, the SL15 captures vintage Plexi response without requiring stadium-level volume.

Driven by a pair of EL84 power tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes, the SL15 generates 15 watts of pure Class A/B power. Housed in a lightweight, resonant pine cabinet wrapped in classic Black Tolex with a clean Tolex front panel, the SL15 is the ideal amplifier for gigging musicians, home studios, and players seeking iconic British gain structure with instantaneous touch sensitivity.

Flexible Gain Staging & Precision Control

The SL15 features two distinct input channels—Channel I (High Treble) for signature Plexi bite, presence, and upper-midrange clarity, and Channel II (Normal) for full-bodied low end and smooth warmth. Utilizing a bridged input setup or running directly into either channel allows you to tailor your gain staging from dynamic vintage cleans to saturated, harmonic-rich overdrive. The intuitive front control panel includes independent Volume I, Volume II, Treble, Middle, Bass, and Presence controls for total tonal control across any cabinet arrangement.
