The Sanctuary Perspective
The Radial PZ-Pro is Radial’s ultimate flagship acoustic workstation, designed to deliver uncompromised tone control and routing flexibility for professional touring acoustic artists and multi-instrumentalists. Expanding on the legacy of the classic PZ-Pre, the PZ-Pro features two fully independent channels with dedicated EQ sections, flexible piezo buffers, and an integrated XLR microphone preamp with selectable 48V phantom power. Whether you are blending a piezo pickup with an internal condenser microphone, toggling between two different acoustic instruments on stage, or running a vocal/instrument combination through a single floor unit, the PZ-Pro serves as the definitive central command for high-end acoustic setups.
Product Intelligence & Signal Integrity Profile
- Best For: Professional Touring Acoustic Guitarists, Multi-Instrumentalists, Singer-Songwriters, Double Bassists, and Dual-Source Acoustic Rigs (Pickup + Mic).
- Sound Character: Studio-grade transparency with massive dynamic headroom, whisper-quiet operation, ultra-musical 3-band semi-parametric EQs, and smooth harmonic detail.
- Compared To: Upgrades the PZ-Pre by providing complete independent EQ controls for both channels, an integrated XLR mic preamp with +48V phantom power, a dedicated wet/dry FX loop blend control, and expanded XLR direct routing.
- Sanctuary Expert Note: "The PZ-Pro is the gold standard for players running high-end dual-source acoustic systems—like blending an internal mic with an active or passive bridge pickup. Having dedicated semi-parametric midrange controls on both channels lets you sculpt away harsh boxiness or piezo quack while preserving the natural acoustic air of your instrument."
Key Features & Stage Engineering Highlights
- Two Independent Channels with Separate EQs: Shape Channel 1 and Channel 2 individually with dedicated 3-band Equalizers featuring sweepable semi-parametric midrange controls.
- XLR Microphone Input with 48V Phantom Power: Channel 2 includes a studio-grade XLR input capable of powering clip-on acoustic condenser mics or vocal microphones with clean phantom power.
- Selectable PZ-B Piezo Buffers: Engage ultra-high 10M-Ohm impedance buffers on either channel to eliminate piezo 'quack' and harsh loading artifacts on passive transducers.
- Surgical Notch & High-Pass Filtering: Global variable notch filter sweeps from 56Hz to 330Hz to eliminate low-end acoustic feedback, while a 3-position filter roll-offs stage rumble.
- Assignable FX Loop with Wet/Dry Blend: Integrate external chorus, delay, or reverb pedals seamlessly into your acoustic chain with precise wet/dry mix control.
- Dual Balanced XLR Direct Outputs: Outfitted with independent Pre-EQ and Post-EQ/FX XLR outputs with ground lifts for dead-quiet FOH and monitor feeds.
