Boutique S-Style Innovation with Tempered Tone & Fralin Pickups
The Guitar Sanctuary is proud to present the Novo Idris Custom in a sophisticated, Extra Light Distressed Charcoal Frost finish with a matching rosewood peghead veneer. Handcrafted in Nashville, Tennessee by Dennis Fano and the master lutherie team at Novo Guitars, the Idris takes the classic double-cutaway S-style platform and elevates it with tempered tonewood resonance, versatile electronics, and modern playing dynamics.
At the core of this custom Idris is an ultra-resonant tempered pine body paired with a tempered maple neck and a smooth 9.5"-14" compound radius rosewood fingerboard equipped with 21 jumbo Jescar frets. Novo's signature heat-treatment process removes internal moisture and resins from the tonewoods, yielding an extraordinarily lightweight, acoustically lively instrument that rings out with vintage-style warmth and authority.
The electronics package on this Idris is engineered for ultimate sonic adaptability. It features a custom pickup layout pairing Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot Strat single-coils in the neck and middle positions with a Fralin Modern PAF humbucker in the bridge. Equipped with a push-push series/parallel toggle on the tone control and an integrated blend pot, this setup delivers everything from classic glassy Strat chime and scooped notch-position quack to fat, singing humbucking leads and extended tonal combinations.
Hardware appointments include a smooth, highly stable MannMade vibrato bridge, 4-ply tortoise shell pickguard, vintage cream switch tips and knobs, and classic MOTO dot inlays. This custom Idris is a masterclass in boutique American craftsmanship built for the discriminating guitarist.
Sanctuary Expert Note: The Idris is the ultimate workhorse for session players, studio guitarists, and worship leaders who need a single instrument that seamlessly covers classic S-type single-coil clarity and thick PAF humbucker overdrive. The Fralin pickup combination paired with the blend control provides access to tonal textures standard 5-way switches simply cannot reach.
