The Plumes is a modern take on one of the best green overdrives to ever grace the electric guitar! Featuring 3 clipping modes, the Plumes can take any tube amp circuit and bring it to the next level by:

• Sculpting low end
• Pushing mids
• Promoting top-end clarity

Clipping Modes

• Mode 1: Symmetrical Clipping
  Utilizes a pair of light-emitting diodes, making it the crunchiest setting the Plumes has to offer.

  • Through a clean amp, it delivers a reasonable facsimile of that classic black and gold British valve amp tone.
  • Through a dirty amp, it makes your tone absolutely filthy.

• Mode 2: Clean Boost Mode
  Eliminates the soft clipping diodes altogether, leaving you with straight OpAmp drive.

  • Perfect for pushing your clean tone out in front.
  • Ideal for driving the preamp of an already overdriven amp into tasteful breakup territory.

• Mode 3: Asymmetrical Silicon Diode Arrangement
  Similar to the stock screamer but with more output and clean clarity—a tone some describe as "transparent."

  • Feels like your clean tone is blended with a slightly less clean tone.
  • Provides a warmer low-end response and lower output.
  • Less hard on your amp and ears, offering a classic, pleasant tone the whole band can enjoy.

Enhanced Tone Control

EarthQuaker Devices has improved the classic Tone control while keeping it familiar and comfortable:

• Low end: Big and clear.
• High end: Bright and cutting without killing the mids.
• Offers just the right amount of tonal excitement to tickle those eardrums while maintaining a familiar mid-heavy drive.

Flexi-Switch® Technology

This device features Flexi-Switch® Technology, a relay-based true bypass switching style that allows you to use both momentary and latching switching:

• Latching operation: Tap the footswitch once to activate the effect and tap again to bypass.
• Momentary operation: Hold the footswitch down for as long as you'd like to use the effect. Once you release it, the effect will be bypassed.

Note: Since the switching is relay-based, it requires power to pass the signal.

Power Requirements

• Uses a standard 9V DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel.
• For best performance, use pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies.
• Avoid using switching-type power supplies, daisy chains, or non-pedal-specific power supplies, as they may introduce unwanted noise.
• DO NOT RUN AT HIGHER VOLTAGES!
