The new Martin Super HD-28 is a bold architectural expansion of the legendary Style 28 Dreadnought. By increasing the internal air volume by 20% over the standard footprint, Martin has created a "Super D" body that offers thunderous bass and unmatched projection. This is more than a larger instrument; it is a recalibration of the rosewood experience, providing a massive low-end floor and an extended dynamic range that allows the guitar to remain articulate even at extreme volumes.
The foundation of this instrument is the classic pairing of a solid spruce top with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides. In this expanded displacement, the rosewood delivers even richer overtones and a more complex, piano-like harmonic spectrum that will only continue to open up over time. The Super HD-28 is structurally refined with Forward-shifted Golden Era scalloped X-bracing. This premium bracing pattern, typically found in the Modern Deluxe Series, allows the larger spruce top to vibrate with vintage-inspired responsiveness and incredible sustain.
