Vintage Soul, Modern Precision The 2013 Gibson Memphis 1959 ES-175D is a obsessive recreation of the most legendary year in archtop history. Featuring a lightweight 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple body with historically accurate Adirondack Spruce bracing, this guitar delivers the "woody," percussive snap that defined the jazz and fusion sounds of the late 50s.
Unlike standard production 175s, this reissue features the Memphis rolled-neck binding and a period-correct Nylon nut, providing a played-in feel that is usually only found on vintage originals. The hardware shows a light, natural patina that perfectly complements the VOS Vintage Sunburst finish.
