Jon Slaughter
Jon Slaughter is a skilled guitarist and educator currently pursuing his Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Guitar Performance at the prestigious University of North Texas. With over 10 years of playing experience and 5+ years as a professional performer, Jon has shared the stage with renowned jazz artists including Terell Stafford, Sean Jones, and Adam Larson.
Trained in jazz and classical guitar, music theory, jazz arranging, and ear training, Jon has studied under respected musicians such as Paul Metzger, Pete Weise, Dr. Fernand Vera, Dr. Alex Heitlinger, Tommy Katona, and Brek Lancaster.
Jon offers private lessons in jazz, blues, rock, pop, and classical guitar for students ages 8 and up - ranging from beginners to advanced players. His teaching style is structured, supportive, and student-focused, designed to help each musician build confidence, accomplish achievable goals, and grow in both technical skill and creative expression.
