"Nik Huber began building guitars in 1993 and founded his company in 1996 in his hometown of Rodgau, Germany. Coming from a line of woodworkers going back four generations, and already having plenty of time gigging and touring under his belt, guitar making was a natural path for Nik. And what’s a guitar maker if not a failed rockstar turned woodworker?
Those early years were spent learning everything there is to know about building the best possible guitars, and from his first attendance at the Frankfurt MusikMesse in 1997 and the NAMM Show in 2002, Nik gained a worldwide reputation as a serious builder of the highest quality instruments. His reputation grew and so did the company: today, our team of highly skilled specialists is building around 350 instruments a year in our Rodgau workshop.
Even though we’ve continued to grow, our ethos has always been ‘better, better, better’, not ‘more, more, more’; we aim to make every instrument the best we’ve built yet, ensuring we do everything we can to make that happen. It means a lot of slow, hard work, but that’s also where the joy of instrument making lies. Precise craftsmanship, obsessive attention to detail, the highest possible standards – these are the things we’re passionate about and that drive us to make every guitar better than the last. From elaborate custom builds featuring rare exotic woods and intricate inlay work to stripped-back gigging machines, every single one of our instruments is made to this same level of expertise and with only the very best materials and components – no exceptions.
A lot of us are musicians ourselves, so we know that, in a world filled with so many different guitars, ones crafted in Germany are aspirational instruments – dream guitars saved up for, enjoyed for decades and passed down through generations. Building such instruments for players all over the world is an absolute pleasure.
We also have the honour of working with some of our favourite artists, who take our guitars into studios and onto stages all over the world. It’s a dream come true to hear guitars we make on records we love, and working with artists always inspires us to keep doing what we do in the workshop.
A small, obsessively dedicated team that loves what we do, we’ve always got something exciting in the works, from new models and one-off projects to artist collaborations and in-person events.
Whatever we’re working on, and whatever guitar we have on our bench, we bring all of our passion and experience to making instruments that inspire people for years to come. And we wouldn’t want to be doing anything else."
