This Preowned Limited Edition Paul Reed Smith McCarty 594 Soapbar is in very good overall condition, with the original case and accessories. It is done in their classic Black Gold Burst Finish, with Figured Maple 10-Top, and has had the original Seymour Duncan pickups replaced by a custom set of Lollar P-90 Staple Pickups.
It has also had the original metal tuning machine buttons replaced with the Faux Bone versions (like on a DGT), the original buttons are included in the case.
It was a player and not a case queen, so it has some nicks and dings, mostly on the back (see photos), but is in fantastic playing condition.
The McCarty 594 models were designed to rival the best vintage instruments, meticulously spec’d with a 24.594” scale length, Pattern Vintage neck carve, tweaked Phase III locking tuners with modified collars and set screws, and a two-piece zinc bridge.
Soapbars are one of the most classic pickup designs and add another tonal option for players that is at once incredibly familiar and effortlessly playable.
“There are a lot of folks out there, myself included, who absolutely love the sound of a good P90 soapbar – they have all the character of a singlecoil with a bit more heft.” stated recording artist and PRS Product Specialist, Bryan Ewald.
